Pricing and Booking Questions
Call (07) 3067 4107What sets the price of a drain call?
Depth, pipe material, how easily we can reach the line and what actually caused the choke. The plumber checks those on site, then you get the figure in writing before anything starts.
Is the quote fixed or charged by the hour?
Fixed. You agree the full figure before any work begins, so there is no hourly rate guesswork. If the job uncovers something extra, you hear about it and approve it before we go on.
How quickly can someone come out?
Same-day where we can. Ring in the morning and there is a fair chance a plumber reaches you that day, though we will not promise a clock time because the day's book decides the run.
How do I book a visit?
Ring (07) 3067 4107. Say which fixtures are slow, gurgling or overflowing and anything you have noticed about when it happens, and we will set a time that suits you.
What details help over the phone?
Which drains misbehave together. A shower that backs up when the washing machine runs points to a shared line, while one slow basin on its own points to a local choke. Those patterns shorten the diagnosis.
How do I pay?
Card or EFTPOS, settled on the day once the work is done and the line has been tested. No account to set up and nothing to chase later.
Local Drain and Pipe Questions
Call (07) 3067 4107Which pipes am I responsible for?
Everything on your side of the connection point to the sewer main is the owner's to maintain, while the main itself belongs to Urban Utilities. If the trouble sits out in their main, we will say so.
Why does my drain block again after clearing?
The older streets here run clay drains laid in short lengths, and every joint is a seam roots can push through. Big trees along the Kedron Brook parks feed those roots, so clearing removes the mass but not the seam.
Does living on the hill side change the job?
It can. Shallow granite leaves some pipes with little cover, sitting close to driveways where a car's weight can crack them. The slope also sheds storm water fast, so hill-side lines are worth checking before summer.
Will a camera inspection tell me anything new?
It shows whether the pipe is cracked, collapsed or simply choked, and that difference decides the fix. Where roots are a known problem, footage also tells you whether a clear bought you months or years.
What should never go down the drain?
Cooking fat sets solid in the pipe and wipes stay intact long after paper falls apart, so both belong in the bin. On an older clay line they catch at the first joint, and a choke builds from there.
